Just 2 hours south of London, in the New Forest National Park, this is pretty and unspoilt area. Come here for the slow life. You’ll get ponies walking on the beach, cattle sleeping on the road and generous animal chaos thrown into your holiday.
The villages of East End and Pilley are a few minutes drive from bustling Lymington, but both have good villages shops and pubs, read our pub guide.
Most of our houses here welcome dogs and are very family friendly. The beach is dog friendly all year.
East End has the East End Arms (smart and good food) and The Turf Cutters at the northern end. It is more relaxed and a favourite of the locals. Pilley has the Fleur de Lys, the New Forest most haunted pub and a lovely spot for food and drink.
The beach at Tanners Lane is great fun and one of our favourites for wild days out. Read more on our blog.
