What to love about Southbourne & Surrounding Area...
Home to some of the best beaches on the Hampshire and Dorset coast – why go to Cornwall? Miles of sandy coast, nearly all of it suitable for wild swimming and great places to eat out – plus you get the New Forest National Park just inland.
The sea water quality is generally very good. There is little surf here but paddle-boarding, kayaking and sailing are all wonderful. Read our Wild Swim Guide here.
The villages that are back from the coast, and in the National Park, are some of the cutest in the area. Bransgore is a sleepy spot, walk to a few pubs, but seemingly it has more signposts and quirky lanes than people. Walking at Wilverly, and the old train line toward Burley is lovely.
