New Forest Escapes is going big on ‘smalls’, by asking people to donate bras in aid of Smalls for All®, a charity collecting underwear for people in Africa and the UK who can’t access or afford underwear: ‘because dignity matters’.
Here at New Forest Escapes we have a focus on community, environment and sustainability. Supporting charities, causes and the community is a key element of our business’s ethos and this bra collection is the latest in the team’s charitable and community initiatives and fundraisers.
Jane Wilkinson, Company Owner, New Forest Escapes, explains: ‘The business and the team regularly give their time and support to various initiatives and charities. Following team
discussions, we decided for our next project we were keen to raise awareness of the work of Smalls for All®, and as an all-female team we decided to focus on collecting bras.’
The New Forest Escapes team are asking for new or ‘gently worn and laundered’ bras to be brought to the ‘bra box’ at New Forest Escapes’ HQ at 23 New Street throughout the month of October. The bras can be any size, including sports, maternity and nursing bras. The team is hoping to collect at least 100 bras.
Jane Wilkinson continues: ‘Having access to everyday essentials such as underwear is something we are fortunate to take for granted. Giving a bra may seem like a small thing,
but every new or ‘gently worn’ bra makes a difference to someone’s life. Have a look through your lingerie for any bras that are unworn or hardly worn. Alternatively, please
consider supporting this worthwhile cause by purchasing a new bra.’
In Africa, Smalls for All® helps those living in orphanages, slums, camps and schools. In the UK, Smalls for All® helps charities and organisations supporting the homeless and people living in poverty or straitened circumstances. They work with a number of organisations who help to ensure the items go directly to the people in need, donating them for free.
