New Forest District Council (NFDC) offers a simple and flexible ‘Pay As You Throw’ kerbside waste collection service for businesses large and small (including your furnished holiday let). This service allows businesses to purchase waste sacks or stickers for general and recyclable waste, ensuring legal and responsible disposal. It’s a straightforward process with no hidden costs. Here’s a guide for holiday let owners…
Businesses can purchase:
// NFDC Green General Business Waste Sacks for general waste
// NFDC does not offer a General Waste Container Collection Service.
// Businesses must place waste in NFDC sacks, tie them securely, and leave them kerbside on collection day.
// Collection crews can remove sealed sacks from an 80L dustbin but cannot reach into larger containers due to Health & Safety regulations.
// General waste includes all non-recyclable business waste, except for controlled waste such as clinical waste.
NFDC collects the following items in NFDC Mixed Recycle Business Waste Sacks (clear sacks with red print):
Cardboard should be flattened and bundled together or placed inside a larger box (max 2ft³) with an NFDC Mixed Recycle Business Waste sticker (red & white) attached.
NFDC offers 1100L containers for business mixed recycling.
For mixed glass, NFDC provides a Business Waste collection service for 240L, 360L, and 1100L containers.
