Located in the tranquil village of Everton, this cottage is an absolute gem. Stay here for everything coast, and everything country… the New Forest is your oyster & this is the perfect base to explore it all from!

Named ‘sweet’ in Armenian, and once home to a precious stone dealer (a man of good style and taste), the cottage still boasts all the quirks from its 1920’s beginnings; with porthole windows, original floorboards, and arts and crafts detailing throughout. With plenty of charm to admire from times-gone-by; we also love the more modern finishing touches and creature comforts added along the way ***cue the hot tub***

Whilst the living rooms and bedrooms offer plenty of spots to curl up and relax indoors, the hot tub outside provides the ultimate indulgence… and there’s plenty of room for all of you to hop in!  Surrounded by greenery, the decked garden area is also perfect for sunny morning coffees, and alfresco bites together.

There’s something for everyone in the village, with its locally-stocked shop, traditional pub, playing fields & park, and garden centre… but for days out we highly recommend taking the scenic route with a trip to the seaside (just follow the 3.3 mile footpath to Milford’s dog-friendly beach), or a wander off the beaten path (work up a thirst and end up at The Old Mill at Gordleton).

Inside

The rustic charm of reclaimed treasures is mixed with modern day creature-comforts, and you'll spot a trove of reclaimed treasures, plush soft furnishings and *gorgeous ceramics throughout Anoush.

Flowing well for family stays, Anoush's well laid-out kitchen means you can chat as you chop, and there's plenty of space for 6 around the table. We love the little hideaway sofa nook in this space too... just perfect for cat naps & sundowners!

The old and new detailing continues next door in the cosiest of snug rooms. Whether you're a 'board gamer', 'Netflix-er' or a simple 'veg-outer', this room is made for relaxing. Those of you who know their New Forest design will notice the port-hole window- a signature from the house's architect.

Upstairs, the two main family bedrooms both have exquisite, robust Mahogany sleigh beds and there's a very restful vibe with leafy scenes rustling outside. Along with the family bathroom up here, there's also a sweet bunk room to bagsy.

BACK GARDEN:

Just open the backdoors from the living room to enjoy indoor/outdoor living at its best...

*Home to a six-seater hot tub*, we love how the planting rambles around the back of the house, with lots of greenery to make you feel cocooned & private whilst you enjoy your bubbles! Sweet, petite, and perfect for an alfresco breakfast, BBQ, or bookworm session, Anoush's west-facing garden is also ideal for catching the last of the days rays with something refreshing.

For those with dogs & small children, please do refer to our Home Truths section.

FRONT AREA:

Two allocated parking spaces, you can also store bikes through the gate leading to the garden from the driveway.

The (lovely) owners live next door (please see Home Truths), so you may see them entering or leaving through their sectioned off part of the driveway... but rest-assured you'll feel completely private.

Home truths

Tucked behind a main road, you may notice a little road noise at Anoush. This is a semi detached home, and the owners live next door- they have gone to every length to give you privacy (screening windows, sound-proofing doors, and separating the drive), so you won't feel overlooked during your stay.

Outside, the plant beds are dropped down a little from the decking & there is a small pond beyond the decking area (covered with a grill), but parents & small dog owners may want to be extra vigilant.

For comfort reasons, the AGA will be switched off from June - September; but there are hobs next to it & a separate electric fan oven to use under the island. From the kitchen/diner, there is also a step in the main living area which drops a couple of centimetres... the (gorgeous!) original floorboards here may splinter so slippers or socks are advisable!

The gorgeous original fireplaces (in the main living area & snug) are for admiring only.

Upstairs there is a small 'ledge' on the bottom bunk, so if extra small ones are sleeping here, you may just want to add something to make it safe.

As we change the hot tub water for every booking, if you arrive on a changeover day, it may take till later on your arrival day until the optimum temperature is reached... trust us though, it'll be well worth the wait!

Location, location, location...

Immersing yourself in village life is a breeze here... the locally-stocked shop, traditional pub (The Crown Inn), park + off-track walks means you don't have to travel)! There's even a lovely little cafe in Everton Nurseries just a 30 second walk from Anoush. But, for town, coast & country adventures we highly recommend exploring Lymington & Milford on Sea!

The buzzy town of Milford is great to shop, sip and feast (Verveine is a must for special, seafood suppers) - and the beach here is just glorious! A 8-10 minute jaunt by car, we also reckoned packing a picnic & planning a beach day if you can - the views over The Solent are glorious!!

Lymington (also a 10 minute drive away) boasts a fab market every Saturday, and is bustling with boutique finds. You can also people (and Sunseeker!) watch at the Quay - where we love to carry on our adventure with a wander along the Sea Wall.

From the rustic touches & original features, to the pops of colour - it's such a feast for the eyes at Anoush! I especially love the living area - where everyone can gather together and spill outside. There is a real feeling of 'home' here - and because of this, you instantly relax... just gorgeous!!! Everton is also absolutely ideal for families looking to explore- located close to many of the coastal, town and countryside hot spots of the New Forest!

Anoush is absolutely gorgeous! In the heart of Everton right between Lymington and Milford on sea you are really spoilt for choice. It has all the ingredients for a super fun stay right by the sea and forest.
