Tucked just behind Lymington’s bustling & boutique-filled High Street, Nutmeg House awaits for town, coast & country adventures!

Classically-chic, with a dash of contemporary-cool, the sleek palette throughout is paired with playful pieces, (spot your favourite album cover)- making Nutmeg House sophisticated & welcoming in equal measures.

Ideal for family get-togethers (& friends reunited), there are four bedrooms to choose from. Whilst little ones will love the fab kids’ bunk room for 3… our absolute fave has to be the bijou bedroom ‘wing’, with its en-suite & Carrie-esque closet! Pour a coffee and plot your day from the courtyard garden, before heading out on-foot to soak up the Lymington good life…

With an array of cafés, shops, bars, and restaurants just a stone’s throw away, the boat-bobbing quay is also a must see during your visit. Wend your way down the High Street, as you treasure hunt at the Saturday market, and continue along the cobbles until land meets sea. Dangle your legs, throw in a crabbing line, do a spot of yacht-spotting, or wander further along The Sea Wall.

For day trips further afield you can hop onboard the ferry for a day trip to the Isle of Wight, or catch the train to Brockenhurst for countryside pursuits… great escapes surround! Wherever your day takes you, Nutmeg is perfect for nestling back into with your favourite people. Kick back and relax in style!

Here's your full run down of this place, inside and out...

Inside

Although Nutmeg House is a only a 30 second walk from the bustling High Street, calm, tranquillity & quiet await... it's perfect for sitting back & sipping something lovely.

Starting in the living area... think pops of colour, textured soft furnishings, eclectic art & chic finishing touches. After feasting at the dining table, spread out on the uber-welcoming sofas to spend some quality time together. Filled by the adjoining courtyard's natural light by-day, this cosy room transforms into an ultra-snug cocoon by-night.

With a generous hallway (find extra storage here), go past the downstairs cloakroom & fab bunk-room (Bedroom 1), to discover the kitchen. With enough room to coffee, chat or cook as you please, the round table (for 4) makes for a very sociable affair. The cupboards are full of plenty to cater with, and the tableware is all a smart uniform white.

Leading off from the kitchen (just 7 steps up), you'll find Bedroom 2. It's home to a super king bed, TV, and sparkly en-suite bathroom... and meet our fave... the mini, Carrie-esque closet! Great for those who are first to rise (or perhaps last to bed!) You may want to call shotgun right now?

Upstairs, you'll find the spacious, family bathroom & two more bedrooms. Whilst Bedroom 3 has the added bonus of a dressing area. Both sanctuaries come equip with TV's, super king beds, plenty of natural light, and unique bits to swoon over.

With its prime position, and added little extras, this central & stylish bolthole has fast become one of our favourite Lymington homes!

On sunny mornings, we recommend that you follow the freshly-baked bread smells to Jennings (a local baker whose Belgian buns are famous in these parts!) to bring back an alfresco brekkie that is sure to win brownie points- or, head a minute up the road to The Solent Cellar & stock-up on some delish drinks to sample as the sun sets.

- Small dogs are welcome on the ground floor.

PARKING:

The parking space is marked by a cream flag stoned area outside the garage. Please stick as close as possible to that area to ensure that the neighbours have access to their property with no issues.

A parking clock is available for use during your stay, should additional parking be needed. This clock can be used in local public car parks, including: St Thomas St car park- for 3 x hours during the day / or from 6pm – 8am (you will drive past this car park as you turn into the road) & up to 20 x hours in the long stay spaces in Marks & Spencer’s car park (there is an alleyway on St Thomas St taking you directly opposite M&S, but choosing a long stay, not short stay, spot is imperative to avoid a fine).

If there are free spaces on St Thomas Street, you will be able to park for free with no time restrictions, and Middle Road (a few streets away) may also have spaces available, with no restrictions.

Accessibility

There are 7 steps up to bedroom 2. These stairs are carpeted and there's a good handrail. The staircase is narrow and broad-shouldered people might feel a bit cramped going up.

There is a normal flight of stairs up to the first floor.

Start at the top of the hIgh street and work your way down . Walking from the cottage down to the Quay will take you along most of the High Street shops. Or go toward the sea wall toward the Yacht Haven bar and cafe, via Woodside park and the pretty back lanes for a more dog-friendly walking trip.

Great stay, fantastic location and lovely house. The host was extremely attentive answering questions prior to our stay. The parking can be a bit tricky if you have a large vehicle, but we managed fine. All in all a great stay.

Lovely house with lots of space particularly the bedrooms . Car parking is a struggle unless a small car but you do get a car parking clock for a nearby car park . Very nice place to stay in the heart of Lymington.

Ingvill July 2022

Great location easy walking distance to the town / harbour / restaurants - yet so quiet. Beautiful property so well equipped and spotlessly clean. The court yard garden was perfect for early morning breakfast or evening drinks. Perfect location for a mixed age group like ours Thank you

Nikki July 2022

A real gem. Beautiful stylish cottage in an excellent location for Lymington and New Forest area. The property was spotlessly clean with all amenities plus extras to ensure a perfect stay. Our party was 4 adults of two generations plus 2 young children. We all loved it and want to revisit x

Nutmeg is a really lovely property tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished to a really high standard. It even has stair gates so you don't have to worry about your dog going upstairs. 2 minutes walk from the High Street but you wouldn't know it as it is so quiet. Located in Lymington with the New Forest and coast on its doorstep. Saturday market was. great especially for the food stalls. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nutmeg to anyone looking for a an enjoyable getaway week-end

Naheed June 2022

This is a truly fabulous house in a perfect location. The high street is just a few minutes walk which includes a beautiful marina. We visited the Isle Of Wight from the ferry port which is just 5 minutes away and Paultons Park is also just 25 minutes away. All 4 bedrooms are stunning, the kitchen is very well equipped. The house has everything you will need! x

Victoria April 2022

Nutmeg house is absolutely beautiful. It is well equipped with everything we could have ever needed or wanted. We were travelling with 6 adults, 2 young children and a dog and there was plenty of room for us all. There were thoughtful personal touches left for us too which were really appreciated. It was spotlessly clean. The location is ideal, a very short walk to the high street with plenty of shops and pubs. Also a great location for exploring near by beauty spots. Overall a wonderful stay. I could not recommend highly enough and we will certainly be coming back!

Charlotte April 2022

Comfortable, roomy, modern, well decorated. Felt like a home from home. Felt comfortable from the minute we arrived on Friday until we left Monday morning. There's loads to see, Lymington is a pretty little town with loads going on, a Saturday Market, loads of little places to have a coffee, a beer whatever you like. We went to a fantastic fish restaurant in Milford on Sea which is 10 minutes away, unforgettable. Our family won't forget it and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If I could give it 6 stars I would!!!

Julie November 2021

We were 4 moms with 5 kids and we really enjoyed the stay for 3 nights during half term. The house is amazing - lush, cozy, comfortable, clean and inviting! Kitchen is a wow. Anne Louise helped us with local things to do and we ended up on the Isle of Wight for a day. Wow. Highly recommended!!

Olesja

We spent 3 nights in the house, which was a lovely break with the kids. The location is great if like us you want to be able to pop to the shop for supplies, grab a takeaway or walking distance to pubs and restaurants. It’s an easy walk down to the harbour and a great base to explore the new Forest during the day via car or bike. The house was spotless, well decorated and really comfortable. The host had left a few treats for us and the kids which was a nice touch too! Communication was great and instructions for check-in easy to follow. Worth noting if you have a large 4x4 car or similar the driveway is tight but there’s parking nearby and a parking clock is available so no need to pay & display. A great stay and we hope to be back one day!
