Here's your full run down of this place, inside and out...

Inside

Inside and outside flow well in this house. It’s been run as a holiday home for 10 years, so as it’s been improved, everything has been thought of and designed to help you relax.

Starting in the living room... 'Instagrammable' springs to mind! Perfect for a cosy night by the fire; there are super-sumptuous sofas and chairs to fit 8... we love the mustard and purple colour combo! The feel is plush with plenty of textures; velvets, woolen rugs, geometric and deep floor rugs + there are stacks of books and games. The bifold doors here open up to the back garden terrace and another outdoor table for 6. This is a real sun trap for afternoons.

Moving on, past the lovely & light-filled downstairs king size bedroom (also leading out to the back garden), there's a bright bathroom, handy utility/boot room, and bistro-esque 'nook' for suppers.

Foodies & feasters alike will love the super-spacious kitchen. The round table seats 8 for family suppers, but for a smarter meal, head back to the hallway table (it's the same size, but nice to have another option). Kitted-out to please even the most discerning of chefs... you can chop & chat away, or spill out 'poolside' from the glass doors, for an alfresco appetiser or aperitif.

Upstairs, each of the 3 bedrooms enjoy gorgeous, green vistas... The master is the epitome of laidback luxe, with plenty of room to relax (perfect for a travel cot) amongst its chic design. The 'blue' double room is divine, and its glimpses of pool and leafy scenes will make getting out of bed that bit easier., whilst the sweet children's twin has plenty to keep little ones busy.

The bathroom upstairs is sparkly, spacious... we adore the free-standing tub & large shower!!

Kids' Stuff	A Red Kite travel cot (7.9L x 7.9W x 29.9H cms), high chair and children's crockery & cutlery are available + there is a fab array of books and games on offer (in the upstairs storage cupboard)
Pets	Dogs are welcome in the downstairs area here - with a small charge per dog, per stay. Garden is well enclosed and fenced.

Outside

The landscaped gardens make it a particularly curated feel.

The garden wraps around the house like a manicured pair of hands. The gardeners do a good job and it’s pretty much perfect. Being both mature and mainly trees, shrubs and lawns. It’s greenness is soft and there are six separate places to sit around the garden as you follow the sun through the day.

The outside table sits 10, with a outdoor sofa for 6, and sun loungers by the pool. There are small tables and benches throughout the garden for watching playing children – or hiding from them for some peace and quiet!

The garden spaces are given structure with extensive clipped privet hedges, sculpted privet balls and lavender is planted in profusion. All the terraces are a soft Dorset stone and in good order. The *seasonally heated pool is next to the driveway and separated by tall pines, interplanted with lavender. Roses climb up the tall brick boundary wall. It’s a sun trap.

There are no neighbours to one side, instead some wild land. On the other side there was once a Hotel (it’s still on the OS Map as such).

The back garden (also accessed through the living room & downstairs bedroom), is a little sentry - perfect to enjoy a morning coffee, good read, or some quiet time.

There are big gates that give total privacy at the end of the drive, so lock yourselves away if you so wish!

The swimming pool is approx L44ft x W14ft and 5ft 6in deep & 4ft in the shallow part.

Garden

Swimming pool / Charcoal BBQ / Fire pit / Front garden storage / 8 x seater round garden dining table & chairs / Sun loungers. Please note that the BBQ is stored away from the end of October until the beginning of April. If you would like to use it during this period, please let us know before your stay so we can make it accessible to you.

Parking

The driveway has room for 4-5 cars.

Home truths

The pool is only available to use from late May (starting with half term) - September (please confirm with team when booking) + all guests wishing to use the pool will be required to sign a waiver + pay an additional fee.
For May and September stays, please note that the pool charge is not automatically included at the time of booking. It will be added as a separate additional charge after the booking has been made, if you choose to use it.

The pool cleaner cleans to pool every Friday during the months of May-September.

Tucked off of a main road, you may notice a little road noise at The Lodge.

Please do not park directly under the pear tree when fruiting!

One complimentary basket of logs will be provided for your stay (Nov - March). Feel free to bring your own for any extra.

Please note there is no tumble dryer at The Lodge.

Accessibility

Lending itself well to multi-generational stays / guests requiring an accessible escape - there is only one small step throughout the ground floor, and the downstairs bedroom (with access directly onto the back garden) is also next to the bathroom (with loo & shower), and all living room areas.

Upstairs, there is a small 'landing area' from the double to the top floor.

Booking Information

Included in your booking cost are: all bedding and linen, towels for the house, kitchen essentials, any baby kit you've requested and cleaning the house after you leave. We also supply some treats to get you going for tea when you arrive. Enjoy!
