Come here for vitamin sea – there’s a wonderful mix of coastal cool & countryside charm! Enjoy a secluded end-of-track location; within wandering distance of everything…2 mins to Keyhaven & 10 minutes to the beach & buzzy village… return home for bubbles in the hot tub!

The owners… a well-travelled crowd… renovated the house with relaxing, socialising and catching some rays at the forefront! From brunch on the decking, to suppers in the large kitchen/diner- there’s plenty of room to settle-in after a day at the beach, and we love the colourful and playful feel here.

The main house is unexpectedly tardis-like; with plenty of room for 8 + 2 babies to make themselves at home. You can also book the separate garden annex (which can further sleep 2 adults + 1 baby) if you’ve got extra on the guest list- please refer to our Home Truths for more info.

The Gun Inn Pub (is very good) takes a 2 minute stroll, and if you need a trip to Hurst Castle to blow the cobwebs away, take the boat trip and you’ll be there in 20 minutes. For proper sandy toes we suggest you head toward Milford on Sea beaches which are a 20 minute walk. Don’t miss wild swimming at Milford during the summer, the Keyhaven lagoon is amazing for kayaks or paddle board to Hurst. Crabbing and bird watching is nearby too. You can hire vintage-style ebikes in the village and whizz along the coastal path. Or just flop in the garden…. Yippee!

All the essential details.

Here's your full run down of this place, inside and out...

Inside

Walk into the hallway and straight away you'll get an idea of the owners sense of humour in parts of this house. There's a floor to ceiling wall sticker of a Hawaiian island and a cross-trainer fitness machine. Step into the kitchen and you'll get a good slice of 'wow'. There is a wall of glass along the garden and beach side of the house. It allows the lovely fresh beach light to flood into the room.

There is masses of cooking and meal preparation space, and a generous selection of kit for serving meals.

The whole downstairs area is open-plan only excluding the entrance hallway, stairs and utilities room and loo. So behind the main sitting room area, is a second sitting room area, perfect for lounging and playing kids.

There are bi-fold doors out onto the wide deck and garden which make for great indoor-outdoor summer living.

On the second floor are three bedrooms. The Paris bedroom is the largest with views across the fields toward the sea, the balcony here brings the wide skies to you... stunning! The Japanese bedroom is just a wee bit smaller and has the same views, the zip and link bedroom here allows for two full size single beds instead of a super king. The smallest bedroom is the Matisse bedroom.

The 3rd floor has clear views to the sea, the shingle bank and the fields. In quiet weather, you can open the Velux windows to right angles which allows a huge amount of fresh air in. The light floods into this room throughout the day and you can clearly see the stars here at night.  There is a large ensuite power shower here.

Subtly screened off, you may well spot 'Little Nye' from the driveway or garden... this sweet, separate annexe is available as an optional extra. With it's own entrance (and alfresco seating area), there is space for a further 2 adults and a cot - with a small kitchenette and shower/bath en-suite. *Please view our 'Home Truths' for full details.

Outside

The back garden is lovely, there are two decking areas. The main deck extends from the kitchen and has ample space for the big wooden table to fit everyone, and a few visitors, for meals. There is also a hot tub to the right hand side overlooking the garden (please note that there is an additional charge for guests who wish to use the hot tub). The second deck area, is across the lawn and faces the Keyhaven coastal shingle bar. You can't see the sea from here but you can certainly smell the salty air.

Little Nye (the annexe) is adjoined to the house, but subtly screened off from the main garden. There is a small area, with table and chairs for annexe guests to use.
GardenThe back garden is lovely and large, there are two decking areas with plenty of seating + hot tub overlooking the garden. Weber small gas BBQ. Little Nye is just about visible here - tucked behind the screening (adjoining the main house).
The fence keeps out the cattle who occasionally live in the field. Please do use the beach towels provided for garden and beach.
ParkingParking spaces are allocated as follows, and the owners kindly ask that all guests adhere to this to allow fair access during bookings:

FOR NYE CREEK BOOKINGS (Main house use only): Guests have 2 x allocated spaces. The assigned spaces are; one in front of the main house's front door, and one in the space directly next to it- in the middle of the driveway. FOR ALL LITTLE NYE BOOKINGS (Annexe bookings only): Guests have 1 x allocated parking space. Please ensure that you park directly in front of the annexe to the right of the driveway; leaving enough space for Nye Creek guests to park 2 x cars directly outside of the main house.

FOR ALL JOINT NYE CREEK & LITTLE NYE BOOKINGS (Guests who have booked both the main house and the annexe): You have sole use of the 3 x allocated spaces in front of Nye Creek & Little Nye.

If you require any additional parking spaces, you can use the handy car park just a minute's wander away, but you will need to pay to park here.

Sleepy, small and very boaty, Keyhaven was a port in 1206. Now it’s a fishing hamlet and base for boat owners. Bird reserves surround the coast here. The Isle of Wight and Hurst Castle spit and fortress dominate the view across the Solent.

Really enjoyed our second stay here. My sisters and kids visited for a night too and cousins had lots of fun exploring Keyhaven together. Canoeing with New Forest Activities was a big highlight - lots o fun. Along the Beaulieu River, a 2 hour trip - fine for all our kids 7, 10, 13. We enjoyed canoeing, Beaulieu Car museum, Paultons Park, walks in the Forest, Lunch at the Lighthouse & the Gun Inn for dinner.

Beautiful, warm and comforting home to holiday in! The light and openness of Nye Creek made it a very special place. It all worked wonderfully! We went to the Isle Of Wight, Hurst Castle, some cliff walks and forest exploration. So much to do and see. Thank you.

Tracy & family from Bedford and London March 2022

It's very comfortable and a well equipped property. We did lots of walks! Visited Hurst Castle, the marshes, Verveine fish restaurant and mongers, the bakery + deli and The Gun Inn. Everything is so accessible. Thanks to all at New Forest Escapes.

Great place down by the coast. Took two dogs and enjoyed great walks and nice views from the top bedroom.

Perfect place for a family get together after two years apart. Our little one absolutely loved the open plan living. Was a great trip.

Great place down by the coast. Took two dogs and enjoyed great walks and nice views from the top bedroom. This house was in a fantastic location, close to the beach, New Forest and the village of Milford-On-Sea. The house appeared to have previously been pretty run down and had been recently updated to put on to the holiday rental market. The house was clean and tidy and had lots of books, CD’s and games. The kitchen had good cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils. I didn’t notice it on the listing but there is an annex which is occupied but this is well screened off and didn’t affect our privacy. On the whole we had a fantastic time here and would more than likely return.

Nye Creek is new to New Forest Escapes from June 2021, we've looked after this house through it's recent transformation from a family home to holiday house. We're so pleased to be renting it ourselves now and have no doubt that you'll love it there. We love that it's so close to the seaside, with a lovely lawned garden, and cows over the back fence....It's a very special spot.
