Here's your full run down of this place, inside and out...

Inside

Hole up and hunker down… Perfectly formed for a family of five to make themselves at home, we love how the seasoned styling throughout encourages everyone to relax. The crooked walls, original features, and exposed brickwork embraces a life that is harmonious with the nature that surrounds… just sink back and surrender to free range living!

Whilst the butler sink and Aga in the kitchen may well inspire a Delia moment (just pop outside to pick your own herbs), the serving hatch also adds extra charm. Staying true to its traditional roots, the separate dining room makes every meal feel a little more special, as you break away from your activities to re-group together.

Fed, watered, and relaxed after a day of countryside pursuits, living room is just the spot to snuggle up with a night of DVDs or board games. As slumber calls, you’ll find each of the three bedrooms upstairs (the bathroom is on the ground floor with separate WC)- whilst the king size bedroom boasts the biggest bed, the double room has its own vanity sink, and the sweet single has the perfect reading nook…. But, wherever you lay your hat, everyone will wake up with their own picture-postcard view!

Outside

Rambling roses, plentiful wisteria and pockets of bluebells line your higgledy-piggledy country garden- echoing the sprawling forest that surrounds….

Little ones will delight in discovering the pond hidden amongst the greenery (both are covered, but children should be monitored), whilst they bug hunt and watch for butterflies, whilst older souls will surely be impressed by the romantic and mature planting.

The garden table is a glorious spot to sit & savour the good life and, from morning tea, to an alfresco supper, we love how you can easily flow out from the kitchen with drinks or plates in-hand.

Thank you for another idyllic stay in your beautiful cottage. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed lots of lovely walks in the forest and trips to Avon beach (we found the fish+chips delicious). We really appreciated the little touches and my daughter loved the birthday cake that you left for her. We will be back for a third visit.

The Sayles family May 2025

Had a fabulous stay, cottage and especially the garden are amazing. We enjoyed great weather, beautiful walks at Sway, Highcliffe Beach and Denny's wood for the huge Oak trees and Hawkhill. Will always remember sitting in the garden listening to the birds and the cattle and horses, so lovely. Many thanks.

Thank you for an amazing stay at Forest Cottage. Very warm and cosy with a beautiful stunning garden. Travelled to Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst with lots of walking in the forest. Lovely to be able to walk just a short distance and be in the forest. Would highly recommend eating at the Red Lion - so good we went twice.

What a find!! Your cottage is amazing. The weather was changeable but we had an amazing time, and our choc lab Barney had the time of his life. Walking close to home along with further afield, your cottage is well placed for both. Like many before us we would highly recommend the Red Lion along with the cafe at Setley Ridge Vineyard.

Jack & Dawn September 2024

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage. We have had a lovely week. The weather was glorious. Lots of walking in the forest, as well as up and over the cliffs at Durdle Door. We tried all three local pubs and would definitely recommend the Red Lion. Walk no.30 in the green book for good. For a long walk - 14 miles try the Highland Water and Burley Walk. Stunning and so peaceful.

Chris & Juliet September 2024

A peaceful home from home located deep in the New Forest. Wake up to the sound of birdsong and wild ponies at the front gate.
