Tucked away on a quiet Lane, this beautifully styled cottage sleeps four and offers a peaceful slice of New Forest life. The lane itself is a firm favourite of the local donkeys—don’t be surprised if they decide to nap right outside the front gate. With only about 15 cottages along this no-through road, the setting is wonderfully private, surrounded on all sides by open forest and fields. At the end of the lane is a small working farm, adding to the rustic charm.
Just fifty metres from the front door lies open National Park heathland. From there, you can wander for miles—through Gypsy Wood with its magnificent old oaks, past secretive lily ponds, and into some of the Forest’s most tranquil landscapes.
Inside, the cottage reflects the calm, clean style of its Norwegian musician owner. There’s underfloor heating in the kitchen, bathroom and hallway, making it as cosy in winter as it is fresh in summer. The two bedrooms are simple, airy, and comfortable—styled on the ‘less is more’ principle, perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors.
Rowes Lane is the kind of place that feels like a discovery. It’s not just somewhere to stay—it’s a spot to slow down, breathe deep, and feel at home in the Forest.
