From the bustling High Street, to a serene oasis- in a jiffy; our swish & central Lymington townhouse provides the perfect tonic after a day of New Forest adventures…

Whilst Lymington’s boutiques, bistros, and boat-bobbing quay are all on your doorstep, we love how you can just follow the cobbled path back home, to slide straight back into the slow lane at Seabiscuit. Once a resting place for ostlers & their horses, our mews house has been reimagined into the 21st Century; and behind the picture-perfect façade, awaits a very elegant & tranquil place to lay your hat.

Top-notch design adorns each of the three floors (cue handcrafted furniture, sumptuous linens, and sleek finishing touches), and the light-filled layout will tick everyone’s boxes for spending happy days together. From chopping & chatting over the breakfast bar, to keeping the refreshments flowing in the sun-trapped courtyard, this hot spot is ideal for multi-generational gatherings.

For day tripping we’d recommend a bike along the Sea Wall to Milford beach, or a jaunt on the Brockenhurst train for a forest stomp (via a pub perhaps?!). Town, coast, country (and even the Isle of Wight!)- there’s no need to choose between them at Seabiscuit- they are all there for the taking!

Inside

Set over three floors, we love how our stylish mews house seamlessly mixes design-led interiors with creature comforts. Whilst you will inevitably be oohing & aahing over the craftsmanship, and top-notch furnishings throughout, this is also a space to feel completely at home…

The open plan kitchen/diner/living room is a social space, offering plenty of room to ‘do your own thing’. The full width sliding doors bring the outside in, and we especially love the way the morning light filters through the curtains here - beckoning you to take morning coffee with a side of birdsong! Come nightfall, the antique Persian rugs & Chesterfield create a cosy ambience that encourages late night conversations and card games.

Bright, airy, and luxe - both bedrooms on the first floor provide an oasis of calm (n.b. the nifty twins are also extra-long length + can join to form a super king). With sumptuous linens, bespoke headboards, and Egyptian cotton as standard; your hosts are seasoned pros and this makes everything feel 5 star!

The spacious and sparkly family shower room on the middle floor is within easy reach, and we also love how landing here offers a serene spot to send an email or two.

Amongst the eaves awaits another treat as the master en-suite takes over the top floor. But before you sink into bed (the cashmere mattress is quite literally the stuff of dreams), do sneak a peek over Lymington River with Solent & Isle of Wight glimpses… perfection!

Lucky you - your central Lymington location means that you are close to all New Forest excursions!

Mere steps away from the High Street, you can stock up on all you need within just a few steps. We love Hoxton Bakehouse for sourdough & coffee, and Cook for a guilt-free ready meal!

You can follow the paths of smugglers past along the cobbles towards the Quay where you'll find buzzy, boaty scenes. Rent a kayak or grab a bite - the world is your oyster! Work up an appetite for dinner out by wandering The Sea Wall all the way to Keyhaven & Milford beach... gorgeous! Upon your return, there's a smorgasbord of places to eat, drink and be merry with tapas, Indian, pizza and pubs galore.

Perfect for a car-free holiday, Lymington Train Station is only 6 minute walk from your front door, with direct connections to Lymington Pier (for the Isle of Wight Ferry) and Brockenhurst.

We've had a great stay at Seabiscuit. Good communication and welcome from our host. Comfortable and spacious in the house, which is so well equipped. The location could not be better for access to the town and exploring the area. Lanes Restaurant was a 10/10 for us. Rivaaz also very good. Not to forget a great book selection. Thank you.

John & Catherine April 2024

A lovely few days break in this immaculately beautifully designed house right on the door step of the high street but secluded and peaceful. Kings Head at the bottom of the High Street was excellent and Bucklers Hard was our favourite trip. Thank you.

Claire & family April 2024

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seabiscuit. Very well positioned, close to the High Street and near to come fantastic restaurants and shops. We really appreciated the tips of where to eat in the welcome pack. The home is beautifully decorated, very clean and well equipped. The holiday packs for children were a very thoughtful addition and greatly appreciated. A wonderful Easter break. Recommendations - - The Haven - free parking at the Marina - Saturday market - The Lymington Nature Reserve - Beaulieu Motor Museum - Barton on Sea for walking the coast - and Buckers Hard

Every single design detail of Seabiscuit is just beautiful. The styling is like something out of a magazine, and the quality of the fabrics and materials throughout are all high-end and top notch. Waking up and glimpsing those Solent views from the master is the perfect way to start your day, and I love the way you can open up the bi-folds downstairs to let the outside in. How lovely to be able to wander for 30 seconds into the bustling Saturday market, to stock up and go treasure hunting!

As well as being impeccably styled throughout, this gorgeous townhouse is perfectly situated for exploring Lymington and all that the New Forest has to offer. You are just 20 steps from the middle of Lymington’s lovely High Street, 5 minutes from the train station to Brockenhurst, and 10 minutes to the Isle of Wight ferry- so you’ll never be stuck for things to do. Considering its central location, I was really surprised how tranquil and peaceful it was too!
