This big Victorian house has been extensively and thoroughly renovated. The owners run several large houses and have missed nothing. The feel is curated and considered. It’s a nice touch that the art work around the house is themed around Impressionistic floral oil paintings.  The linen colours have been carefully chosen to compliment the art of course.

Inside

The style here at The Bend is luxurious but not over the top. Everything that should be shiny – is. Everything that should be fluffy – is. Linens are top quality and beautifully white.

The kitchen is open-plan and has a large centre island to give you masses of cooking space. Surfaces are smart in granite and walnut. The fridge/freezer is huge and there are 2 dishwashers. It’s set up to be functional and chic.

Next door to the kitchen is a large dining room to sit the full 12 of you staying. Caterers or cooks will like that they can cook, sort and clear in the kitchen with minimal disruption to the dining room.

The kitchen also opens out into the house-wide sitting room – slightly split into 2 parts – a morning room at the front – which looks down at the garden, and a sitting room. If you sit at one end it would be too far to converse politely with others at the opposite end – but there are plenty of seats and it’s a very comfortable place. There is an open fire here, wood is provided for you.

Upstairs are 4 bedrooms. All smart, chic and full of luxury touches. We like that all of them had good bedside lamps for reading. A nice touch. There is one ensuite in the main bedroom, and a large and smart family bathroom. There is good water pressure here so you can rattle through baths well without waiting ages to refill the hot water tank – useful!

On the Lower Ground floor it’s more of the same; 2 bedrooms with a shower room. We don’t think anyone will be disappointed with their rooms! The Games room is here too.

Outside

The garden is mainly flat, laid to lawns and isn’t overlooked by other houses –  the property is at the edge of a pretty hamlet and there are other houses to one side.

French doors lead from the sitting room directly onto the raised deck area in the garden. There are two seating areas one with views and access to the large garden and the other overlooking the front garden and fields.

The pretty hamlet of Neacroft is a quiet spot. It’s well within the New Forest National Park boundary. The location feels secluded and private but not isolated – you’re 5 minutes away from good pubs and the village shop is only a mile away.
