We love the connection to the great outdoors at Fair Winds, and how the HUGE sliding doors let you all drift out from the kitchen/diner and on to the patio with ease… from BBQ to beer in a jiffy! Echoing its coastal location, there are odes to the ocean throughout (did we mention your hosts include a round-the-world racer)- and splashes of colour add a touch of fun and frivolity to the neutral backdrop.

A stay here will certainly put you on course for a fantastic New Forest jolly… Perfectly positioned to savour life as a Lymington local, you won’t have to cast your net out far to explore the bustling town & boat-bobbing Quay! Amongst the Georgian-lined buildings on the High Street (only a 10 minute wander away), you’ll find an array of independent cafés, pubs, restaurants & boutiques to dip in and out of; and do fill your basket at the Saturday market as you never know what you may find. Follow the cobbles a little further to discover an ice-cream eating, sunseeker-spotting and paddleboarding haven at the Quay.

For adventures a little further afield, wander the Sea Wall to Milford on Sea, or hop on the train for an off-road bike ride through Brockenhurst- the world is your oyster!

After a day at play, head back home and relaaaaax… There’s plenty of space outside for little ones to burn off excess energy… cue the trampoline, football goal and basketball hoop… whilst anyone needing to recoup can just shut the pocket doors and cosy into the snug. When you are ready for bed, you’ll have three ship-shape rooms to choose from (shotgun the master suite with its dressing area + bathtub of dreams).

Town. Coast. Countryside… Fair Winds sails close to it all!

Here's your full run down of this place, inside and out...

Inside

Drenched in natural light, with fantastic sliding doors that bring the outside-in, we love how the open-plan kitchen-diner offers plenty of space to gather together...

Anyone would gladly take the helm in Fair Wind's sleek kitchen, as the island forms the perfect place to chat, chill, and sip something delicious (whilst overlooking the children playing outside). Whether eating at the dining table inside, or taking your feast into the garden, you’ll find the laidback flow here encourages you all to go with the flow.

For any adventurers seeking solace or downtime, cosy snug is just the ticket. With its nifty pocket doors, you can switch on (PlayStation & TV at-the-ready) or switch off (grab a book) as you please.

When you are ready to head to bed, a good night’s sleep awaits for all (and the built-in dog bed is genius!). Upstairs you’ll find room for all the crew to hunker down… and, whilst the colourful twin is great for younger guests (they’ll love the graphic mural), next door the king bed sits amongst a tranquil style that's perfect for all ages.

Wherever you lay your head, the family bathroom, with its large shower, is in easy reach for all parties to refresh.

Saving the best for last... the master, with its adjoining dressing area and super-swish bathroom, make this more of a 'suite' experience! We love how the dark blue hues encourage you to cosy in, and how the superking bed means there's plenty of room for little ones to join in morning snuggles!

Just slide the doors back and drift into alfresco living…

From morning coffees, to BBQ suppers, the patio is pure perfection! There are neighbouring houses, but we love how the mature hedging and generous planting at Fair Winds makes you feel cocooned and completely private.

Whilst the little ones burn off any remaining energy on the trampoline, we recommend cranking up the BBQ and soaking up the evening sun. With a footy goal poised at-the-ready, the there’s also a basketball hoop to bring a bit of competition to the table!

At the front of the house you’ll be able to park 3 cars (the owners' van will be parked here too throughout January), and will have access to an EV charger as a chargeable extra.

The owners will be leaving their van in the driveway throughout January - but there is still plenty of room for 2-3 cars to park.

For security reasons there is a ring camera installed outside of the property.

Location, location, location...

What a spot to anchor up! Fair Winds is a 10 minute wander from the top of Lymington town, and another 10 minute wander to the boat-bobbing & Quay at the bottom... with lots of spots to eat, drink and be merry in-between! We love the Quay for a spot of people watching too, and little ones will delight with the amount of ice cream on offer.

You'll find Lymington train station at the bottom of the High St, where you can hop off at Brockenhurst (in around 10 minutes), or change to head into Bournemouth or Southampton (Waterloo is only a couple of hours from here too). You can also take the train in the other direction to Lymington Pier, to catch the Isle of Wight Ferry, or head to New Forest Adventure Golf.

Lymington Sea Water Baths is a must for families in the summer (be sure to book), and with its location near the Sea Wall, you can walk along from here all the way to Keyhaven.

After a day of explorations, we'd recommend a pub pit stop at The Townhouse for a quick refuel, but If you are looking for a special meal then try The Elderflower (on the cobbles leading to the Quay) - where their locally sourced tasting menus will be sure to impress!

Fair Winds is the perfect place to enjoy a special family holiday in Lymington! The High Street is only a short walk away, and there are so many adventures within easy reach. I love how the house is set up with socialising in-mind, with its open-plan kitchen/diner adjoining the patio. The garden is great, and definitely kitted-out for fun with its trampoline, football goal and basketball hoop at-the-ready.
