What we love...

Those oak gates. Arriving through them with 10 acres stretching out ahead of you sets the tone for the whole stay.

The hot tub with a view. Sitting out on the terrace as the light fades over the garden is one of those simple pleasures that stays with you.

A property that genuinely works for families. From the outdoor play frame and football goal to the black-out blinds, the little details have been thought about.

Welcome to Little Checkers, a beautifully appointed annexe set within 10 acres of private grounds in Everton, just five minutes from the gorgeous seaside town of Lymington. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, this property makes an impression from the moment you arrive. Drive through the large oak gates, and you immediately know you are somewhere a little out of the ordinary. Whether you are after a proper escape or a base to explore, Little Checkers delivers.

Little Checkers Style

Light, airy and quietly luxurious. Little Checkers has a modern feel that sits comfortably within its countryside setting. The striking oak-framed gable-end window floods the mezzanine level with natural light and frames lovely views out over the countryside. Clean lines, good light, and a space that works just as well for families as for those looking to properly switch off and settle in.

Location, location, location...

Everton sits quietly between Lymington and Milford on Sea, tucked into the southern edge of the New Forest with easy access to the coast and the countryside in equal measure. The surroundings are beautiful and unhurried, with the forest just a short drive away and the sea even closer.

Lymington is just five minutes down the road and well worth exploring. The Saturday market on the high street has been running for centuries and is a lovely way to start a morning. The Elderflower is excellent for a special dinner, while the Mayflower is a reliable favourite on the waterfront. The King’s Head and the Chequers Inn are both good for a relaxed pub lunch.

For a walk with a view, head to Hurst Spit at Keyhaven. The shingle spit stretches out towards Hurst Castle with the Needles and the Isle of Wight beyond. On a clear day it is hard to beat. Milford on Sea village is also worth a wander, with its village green, local shops and the excellent Beach House restaurant right on the seafront.
