What we love...

Bramble Hut is thoughtfully designed with rustic charm and modern touches. It’s glamping at its finest - simple, warm, and inviting.

Wake up to birdsong, spot wild ponies nearby, and enjoy forest walks right from your doorstep.

The minimal light pollution here means the night skies are breathtaking. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck whilst stargazing.

Cosy down in this boutique shepherd’s hut, hidden away in a secret garden complete with hot tub, country views and festoon lighting to sparkle up your evenings.

Bramble Hut can be a romantic idyll for two to snuggle away, or a luxe bolthole for one on a solo adventure. Recharge the batteries in this unique stay that combines cool, country and crafted.

Bramble Hut Style

This is possibly the most stylish shepherd’s hut experience ever – a glam rustic retreat with every detail carefully considered. The colour scheme is rich and dark with earthy forest tones. The finish features hand-painted panelled walls and ceiling, reclaimed floorboards, and some of the best names in quality artisan design. It’s all about craftsmanship. The sitting-dining space has a toasty log burner on a slate hearth, a solid oak table, and a handcrafted kitchen with butlers sink and everything necessary to rustle up breakfast, lunch and supper. There’s a cosy sleeping nook and a boutique hotel-style bathroom.

About the Area

Take a wander. Down the lane and round the corner in this thriving little village is a selection of indie stores, among them a café/micro-bakery, award-winning butchers, and a grocery/gift store that’s 100% local. There’s also a useful Co-op and a couple of friendly local pubs.

Sway is surrounded by the New Forest National Park. A stroll through the village’s lanes quickly brings you out on the Forest’s seemingly endless paths and cycling tracks with wide horizons and an abundance of greenery.

The breezy sea wall at Keyhaven and the beaches of Milford and Barton on Sea are only a few minutes’ drive away. However, Sway also has a mainline station – so you can ditch the car for a stress-free escape. Hop on the train for easy adventures to Bournemouth, Brockenhurst, Lymington, Southampton and Winchester.

Inside

Bramble Hut is found in a garden hidden within a garden. Follow the little stepping stones between shrubs and under trees to a gate in a high slatted fence. Beyond is a charming secret garden with hot tub, BBQ, and a terrace for dining and relaxing. Kick back and enjoy country views over meadow and copse where ponies often graze.

Take time out. Sit and sip a morning coffee or an evening sundowner - festoon lighting (on from 4pm-11pm) adds sparkly magic to evenings spent eating al fresco or relaxing in the hot tub.

Quaint wooden rustic steps lead up to possibly the most stylish shepherd’s hut ever. The traditional corrugated metal exterior in stormy darks hides a fabulous bespoke interior. Made by local specialists Lymore Huts, this luxurious hut features hand-painted panelled walls and ceilings, reclaimed floorboards and Crittall windows.

It’s cosy, cosy, cosy. There’s an inviting sleeping nook with deeply comfy king-size bed, wall hung smart TV, and a shelf of books above the headboard for snuggling down under the brass lamps for a good read before settling into gentle slumbers.

The welcoming living space is richly styled in deep foresty shades of russet and nut. It is toasty snug with log burner on a slate hearth, solid oak table, comfortably seating two, and a handcrafted kitchen complete with butler’s sink and bespoke aged metal worktop. There’s a Nespresso machine, Smeg induction hob, Neff microwave oven and Neff fridge/freezer. In short, it’s a clever mini kitchen with every nifty appliance needed to rustle up breakfast, lunch and supper.

Attention to detail and thoughtful touches includes board games, Nkuku artisan cutlery, crockery and glassware, brass fittings and traditional materials. It’s all top notch quality.

Boutique hotel-style ‘bathroom’ combines classic Burlington high level loo with contemporary basin and handmade Luna patterned floor tiles by Bert & May. The power shower features a slate finish shower tray, bespoke aged metal shower walls, black shower screen and a couple of spa worthy dressing robes.

Altogether this outdoorsy glamping experience combines traditional charm with luxurious comforts, cosy warmth with an indulgent hot tub, lungfuls of fresh country air and Foresty views. Just idyllic.

Outside

Found in a garden within a garden, follow the stepping stones running between borders, shrubs and under trees to a gate in a high modish horizontally slatted fence. Beyond is a charming secret, fully fenced, secluded and private garden with hot tub, BBQ, and a terrace. This features both bistro table and chairs and relaxed seating with footstools – perfect for drinks and al fresco suppers on warm evenings. Sit back and gaze over the neighbouring woodland edged meadows where ponies and cattle often graze.

Draped festoon lighting (on from 4pm-11pm) adds magical sparkle to evenings dining al fresco or relaxing in the tub and gazing at the stars.

Home truths

You can look, but you cannot feed or pet the ponies grazing just over the garden fence. It’s a big New Forest no-no.

Bramble Hut can't accommodate babies or young children.

The owners live on site, but will not bother you during your stay.

Complimentary logs will be provided for your stay (Nov - March). Feel free to bring your own for any extra.

Accessibility

Easy parking is available on the premises. There’s a slightly uneven wander through the owners’ garden, guided by stepping stones set into the lawn. The Hut’s garden is fairly level, however there are steps up to the hot tub and three steepish steps up to the shepherd’s hut – although once inside everything is on one level.

Location, location, location...

Sway is a quiet village, not usually on holidaymakers’ radar. Much loved by locals, it has a small assortment of stores. These include a popular café/ micro-bakery, award-winning butchers and a super grocery-gift store that’s 100% local. There’s a useful Co-op convenience store and a couple of local pubs – The Silver Hind and The Hare & Hounds.

The village is best known for Sway Tower, a 220 ft (66m) high concrete tower (AKA Peterson’s Folly) built in the late 19th century. You can’t visit the Tower, which is a family home, but you can’t miss this notable landmark. It helps you get your bearings when you’re walking or cycling in the Foresty landscape of heathland and woodland that surrounds Sway.

A short stroll through the village’s lanes will bring you out among an abundance of greenery on the Forest’s seemingly endless paths and cycling tracks. The breezy sea wall at Keyhaven and the sand and shingle beaches of Milford and Barton on Sea are only a few minutes’ drive away. However, Sway is also super well connected as it has a mainline station. Ditch the car for a stress-free escape (London is under two-hours by train) and hop on the train for relaxed adventuring, with Brockenhurst in five minutes and Bournemouth in about 20 minutes or so.

Kim April 2026

We had such a wonderful stay—everything exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet still close to great local spots. We especially appreciated the little touches, the hot tub, comfortable bed, and the host’s attention to detail throughout the space. Our host was fantastic—friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay!

Evie April 2026

Jackie April 2026

Our stay at Bramble hut was amazing, the place was so cozy and had clearly been curated with a lot of love, you’ll definitely struggle to find a more luxurious little hut We met our host Philip shortly after our arrival who showed us everything we could possibly need to know about the property, a very warm welcome. After that point we were left to enjoy the peace and quiet that this location has to offer, if you needed something help was never more than a quick, pleaser text exchange away. Everything was spotless when we arrived , the property is so well cared for! All amenities(including the very lovely hot tub) looked brand new. We only booked about a week before our stay and with such short notice the price was super reasonable and is money we would be more than happy to spend again should we get the chance for another stay. It’s such a surprise that the availability of this place meant we could book it as last minute as we did. Thanks so much Philip and New Forest Escapes for a lovely time

A little bit of tranquility. Our stay at Bramble Hut was exactly the break we needed. The hut itself was furnished to the highest standards and was so cozy and comfortable. The hot tub was wonderful even though it was March and it was a bit chilly outside. We would definitely stay again.

Diana March 2026

Lovely short break at Bramble Hut. Beautiful and very comfortable accommodation. Hot tub in the cold rain was amazing, better than in the sun :) Thanks for letting us stay.

Shelley & Daisy February 2026

Thank you for the most beautiful stay at Bramble Hut. It has been so peaceful and cosy. Relaxing in the tub watching the stars and seeing a shooting star was a highlight. Thank you for all the thoughtful touches- the chocolates, the champagne and the magazines. As a busy mum I rarely get the chance to relax with a magazine so it was perfect. Thank you!

Daniel & Tiffany February 2026

The Bramble Hut was a lovely place to stay. We had a wonderful long weekend. The host was very responsive and the hut itself was absolutely stunning - it was also really beautifully designed. I would highly recommend staying here!

Lauren February 2026

Bramble Hut is absolutely stunning, every last detail has been thought of down to the Champagne and truffles in the fridge (best enjoyed in the hot tub)! We have loved our time here, a time to reconnect away from our busy lives. Recommended dinner at The Pig and best animals we saw were on the road from Brockenhurst to Burley. Nature park is also incredible if your otter fans. Thank you for the best weekend.

Emma & Joe January 2026

Incredible place. Can’t thanks Phillip enough for the warm welcome to the hut. Cozy, clean and filled with high end appliances and top of the range linen. It was the perfect stay. Incredible attention to detail, from fresh cut flowers to truffles in the fridge. Thank you for a truly memorable weekend

5 stars. The stay was perfect! The hot tub was amazing. The hosts were great when we needed more logs and brought them straight away to our gate. Thank you for an amazing stay for new years and hopefully we will stay again.

Ellie-Mai December 2025

We loved our stay in the cabin very much - the interior has been done to such a high standard it truly has everything you need while also allowing you to disconnect and totally relax. We were lucky enough to see some deer run through the field as well as hear a Tawny owl cooing every night. The hot tub was a perfect place to stay warm and enjoy nature. Just one note that the New Forest has very little phone signal and the wifi wasn't very strong so do download maps / anything you might need before arriving - we were happy to be off our phones for a few days! Would highly recommend this wonderful cabin.

Hollie December 2025

Bramble hut was a perfect cosy stay. Location was great with a short walk into town where you can find a couple of lovely pubs and a cafe. Centrally located for lots of walks, bike rides and access to other towns in the New Forest. We spent the evenings looking at the stars and listening to the owls and other wildlife from the hot tub! Melissa August 2025

Got to say this has topped my holiday experience by a mile. Upon request of a romantic gesture, the owners laid out a bottle of champagne and caviar and salmon sliders. And even some luxury chocolates with strawberries. My partner almost cried she was so moved by the gesture. There truly is superhost behaviour. Couldn’t have asked for a more special ‘staycation’ if I tried. Absolutely loved how homely such a little shepherds hut could feel. Many thanks to Phillip and zul!

Oscar August 2025

The whole place is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully styled and so peaceful. The best part for me was watching the ponies grazing in the field just outside... total magic. The hot tub was the cherry on top… perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
