Boasting a generous open-plan space complete with a toasty wood burner and vaulted ceilings, this top-spec apartment is perfect for two escapees to hunker-down & melt everyday stresses away. Behind its blackened-wood exterior, you’ll find gorgeous Georgian floorboards, vintage French shutters & antique furniture- all perfectly at home with the contemporary up-lighting, sleek furnishings & sumptuous soft furnishings.

Along with a Scandinavian inspired ‘bed-box’ (that you’ll never want to get out of), and a cosy nook that’s hidden amongst the eaves, your interior-designer host has created designed this sanctuary with utter luxe in-mind.

Filled with a feast of fab places to shop & sip (we love The Cave for a glass of something refreshing!), the vibrant village of Milford is also absolute foodie heaven. From an authentic Thai, to a relaxed seafood feast at Verveine,  there’s something to whet everyone’s tastebuds.

Here's your full run down of this place, inside and out...


The project has been the brain-child of local interior designer Helena, and showcases her considered, creative and fun style. 

We love the feeling of space here, and for two there is plenty. The property is open-plan with high, vaulted ceilings; a long window along one wall, and a little courtyard garden at the end. The separation of spaces is cleverly done. For example, the bedroom isn’t a bed room, rather a clever & beautifully lit 'bed box'. It's presented in a chic modern Scandi style, with painted horizontal boarding, calm grey walls, and white curtains. Only the bathroom is enclosed so the space & light really flow here.

The kitchen area is set up to fully function; but we think most guests will have small meals at home, and treat themselves to the full monty at local foodie places. Please don’t steal the Gillmore bar stools… 

What else? A bespoke Ottoman stool, the smartest radiators from Karon, a fine Chinese ceramic stool, a mighty effective wood burner to warm your toes in winter, a goatskin poof to for you to rest your heels on, a glorious power shower…

For those wanting to relax, slow down, eat well, and blow cobwebs away on the coast - this is your place.

The little courtyard is level with the main house and accessed through the terrace/bifold doors. This area is private for you and a good sun trap. There is a Victorian garden table and chairs here for you too…
Garden : The enclosed terrace is a perfect sun-trap for alfresco dining.
Parking : The driveway has space for 2 cars.

Home truths

The owners live next door and their garden is flush to the side of the property. They are hospitable and sensible folk and their main garden relaxing area is on the other side of the house so, whilst you will hear people from time-to-time, they are not going to use this area when they have guests.

Please note however the owners do have a dog that uses the garden, please be mindful of this if you are bringing your dog along for a break too.

You will have full privacy from anyone in their garden because of the French antique blinds that run the length of the window wall separating their garden and your house. There is also an extra Chinese-style folding screen that you also use, should you wish, with bedroom curtains for privacy.


You can park within 15 metres of the front door and there are two steps, 6” each, to step up to the main floor level that is uninterrupted through the property and garden space.

The walk in shower has no change in level.

Booking Information

Free and included in your booking cost are: all bedding and linen, towels for the house, kitchen essentials, any baby kit you've requested and cleaning the house after you leave. We also supply some treats to get you going for tea when you arrive. Enjoy!

The location...

Milford on Sea is a lively and vibrant village just a few miles east of Lymington.  It sits on the coast and has extensive beach front which is sandy at mid-low tide.
