What we love...

Fantastic location on a semi-rural lane within walking distance of the sea wall, Woodside Park, coastal paths, and Keyhaven nature reserve - yet just two minutes from the pub.

Gardens are private with plenty of sociable areas for al fresco feasting and relaxing– simply follow the sun with a morning coffee or sundowner in hand.

Dog-friendly with lots of outdoor space and walkies on the doorstep.

Relax. This cosy traditional cottage is found on a quiet lane. Breezy walks on the sea wall and through leafy Woodside Park are just round the corner – ideal for outdoorsy families and walkies with doggies. Yet Lymington’s gorgeous Georgian High Street with its boutiques, buzz, cafes, and Saturday morning market is only a stroll away.

This is an inviting hang out for families, friends, and those in search of a bolt hole where they can work remotely, as there’s a study off the sitting room and very good Wi-Fi. Sleeping arrangements are flexible with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the cottage and the option of a ‘Sail Loft’ – a separate garden annexe with double bedroom and en suite for an additional cost.

About the Area

Perfect for outdoorsy adventurers, Wisteria Cottage is tucked away on a leafy lane and just round the corner from the Sea Wall and the wide, open space of Woodside Park. Meanwhile, Lymington’s handsome Georgian High Street, with its vibrant Saturday morning market, browsable boutiques, café culture and destination restaurants, is a 20-minute stroll (although you can take a short cut through the Park).

Wisteria Cottage Style

This pretty cottage in Lymington combines classic country style with whimsical nods to its location near the coast thanks to touches such as seagull prints, boaty patterned cushions and braided rope. The interiors are light and calm with a focus on neutrals and textures. The feel is lived-in and cosy with heaps of charm, character and quirkiness.

Inside

The entrance door opens onto a light hallway with pale wooden flooring. To the front is an intimate dining room with vintage furniture including a dining table that seats up to six for laughter-filled suppers late into the evening. Across the back of the cottage a spacious, sociable sitting room features a supersized L-shaped sofa for lazing and lounging, perhaps while watching the huge smart TV screen. Push back the bifolds to open the room up to the dining terrace for relaxed inside-outside holiday living. Off this room there’s also a study with curved work surface and old captain’s chair.

Mind your head as you step down into the bright, light galley kitchen with its country-style cabinetry in soft sea blue. Here keen cooks will find everything needed, from massive fridge- freezer to double oven, for rustling up brunch, lunch and supper. Stools allow for perching and chatting with drinks while food is prepped - that’s if you’re not tempted out to the excellent local eateries.

Easy slumbers can be found in peaceful bedrooms just up the carpeted stairs. The family bathroom is off a half-landing and has garden views, stone tiling and white suite including a bath tub with shower over.

Two wide angled steps continue up to a light galleried landing leading to three bedrooms. These include a charming master bedroom with country furniture, Victorian style metal king size bed, and lots of storage space. The master en suite in fresh white features a big shower and stripes of Mermaid tail green mosaic tiling.

In addition, there’s a comfy double and a cute twin room for kiddies with snug singles under sloping eaves, a dormer window overlooking the gardens and a nautical blue and white scheme.

Need more sleeping space? There’s a separate ‘Sail Loft’ annexe over the garage block, comprising double bedroom and en suite, available for an additional charge.

The front gardens are laid to lawn while a side entrance leads to the rear gardens - useful for stashing bikes (in the blue summer house) and bringing doggies and muddy kiddies round to the back of the cottage.

These gardens are gorgeous. An attractive walled terrace is like an outdoor room with rattan dining table and armchairs to seat six, a huge barbecue, loungers and sofa - just perfect for lazy days. There are also sweeping lawns, established planting, and a pretty pergola, so you can simply follow the sun round the garden while sipping morning coffee or an evening sundowner.

Steps lead up to the Sail Loft over the garage block, which provides a further double bedroom with en suite - available on request for an extra charge.

Location, location, location...

The setting for this charming cottage is absolutely amazing! It’s round the corner from Lymington’s lush expanse of Woodside Park as well as being super close to the sea wall and coastal walks, yet just two minutes from a friendly local pub, The Chequers and The Fishermans Rest.

Our nearby eating out faves include The Haven at Lymington Yacht Marina with its unbeatable views, and The Gun Inn at Keyhaven, which has a great beer garden and delicious menu.

As for adventures on your doorstep - head off along the Sea Wall to Keyhaven – once a fishing hamlet, now a base for boat owners and bird watchers, and home to Jaunt-E Bikes for cycling ‘safaris’. Hurst Spit and the beach at Milford on Sea is just a mile and a half beyond. Milford is also worth a visit- and is well known as a foodie village.

Head in the other direction for Lymington’s Sea Water Baths, a must for those with younger guests in-tow. It’s also home to Hello Outdoors’ luxe poolside sauna in a shepherd’s hut. For more delights head to Lymington's lovely quay to people watch and enjoy crabbing with the kiddies.
